Bathurst Region Tourism – Current Plans
Bathurst Region Tourism is guided by the overarching principles of Bathurst Regional Council’s Community Strategic Plan.
Tourism activities and the priorities of the Bathurst Visitor Information Centre are informed by the Bathurst Region Destination Management Plan 2019-24 which was developed throughout 2019 including through community and industry consultation prior to being adopted by Council at its meeting of December 2019. This Plan provides a comprehensive overview of tourism and the impact and importance of the visitor economy to the Bathurst region, and identifies 104 Action Items over four key priority areas. As at January 2023, 55 of these actions (53%) are completed or underway.

As at January 2023, 32 of the 39 action items of the Marketing Plan were completed or in progress (82%).

Destination NSW has developed a network of ‘Destination Networks’ across the state. The Bathurst region now sits within the area of NSW defined as ‘Destination Network Central West‘ (DNCW). Although this organisation is not strictly speaking a marketing entity, DNCW has also developed a Destination Management Plan (2023) with broad strategic priorities.
